Achievement for All

at the Rosary School

We have tailored the AFA framework to meet the needs of our school and the pupils we wish to support.

Academic Year 2015/16

During the academic year 2015/16, we identified groups of children in our Year 5 and Year 6 classes, who would benefit from a boost. There were 16 pupils in total. Throughout the year, we invited their parents to Structured Conversations where we discussed each child’s strengths and areas for improvement. At these meetings, we agreed targets for improvement and provided some intervention work to boost standards.

In addition to the programme resulting in significant improvements in progress and attainment in reading, writing and mathematics, it also helped to improve school relationships and communication with parents.

Academic Year 2016/17

This year, we are continuing to work with the children and families in the now Year 6 class. We have also identified children in our Year 4 and 5 classes who would benefit from a boost.
