Chaplaincy

Pupils in Years 4-6 have the opportunity to serve the school as part of the Chaplaincy Team. Anyone can join and members are commissioned during a special ceremony, where they receive their Chaplaincy Team Badge and contract from Bishop Declan at Clifton Cathedral.

The Chaplaincy team play a vital role in the Spiritual life of the school and are supported by the Head teacher Mrs Savory.

The Chaplaincy Team have many important roles such as:

  • Helping the school to be a community of faith.
  • Encouraging the pupils to remember their faith in daily living.
  • Developing good relationships within and beyond the school community.
  • Writing and presenting whole school assemblies.
  • Planning and leading key stage/whole school collective worship.
  • Assisting in the organisation of school masses and liturgies.
  • Helping plan and lead charity events.
  • To continue to develop strong links with the Parish.
  • To support the school in its Mission Statement.

 Chaplaincy Team News

September 2016

We have had an overwhelming response to this year’s chaplaincy team with nearly 40 children taking part in the taster event. Unfortunately we had to whittle this down to only 10 children!

Please don’t be disappointed if you didn’t make it this time – there is always next year!

October 2016

Commissioning of the Chaplaincy team will take place on 6th October 2016 in Clifton Cathedral. During this day Bishop Declan will commission all pupil members of both secondary and primary chaplaincy teams for the coming year and new members of chaplaincy teams will be presented with their certificates and badges. Unfortunately due to limited space in the Cathedral parents cannot attend this event.
